What to Expect
Duration
- The health screening process will take about half a day or more depending on the package selected and you may be requested to proceed to more than 1 location for selected tests.
Fasting
- No food and beverages for at least 8 hours prior to your appointment as some tests require fasting (e.g blood tests and ultrasound of the abdomen). However, sips of plain water are allowed.
Medication
- Please do not take your diabetic medication, or insulin, on the morning of your appointment. Regular high blood pressure and/or heart medication can be continued.

Test Specific Instructions

Stool Analysis
- The specimen bottle will be provided on the screening day. Alternatively, you may collect the specimen bottle from our clinic prior to your appointment and collect your stool the night before.
Pap Smear or Pelvic Examination
- It is advisable to do the test 5 days before or after menstruation for accurate results.
Treadmill Stress Test
- Bring along comfortable jogging shoes and clothing.
- For bookings made at our Paragon centre, please note that the treadmill test will be done in another clinic at Mount Elizabeth Orchard Hospital.
- For bookings made at our Novena centre, please note that the treadmill test will be done in another clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
Near and Distant Vision Test
- Bring along your glasses and it is not recommended to put on contact lenses on the screening date.

Post-screening FAQs
What can I use the SMG Health+ app for?
- SMG Health+ app provides a convenient, one-stop digital access to all of the general and specialist clinics and services by Singapore Medical Group (SMG). With this app, you can book your healthcare screening, radiology and imaging services at Lifescan Medical Centre as well as stay updated with your personal records at your fingertips.
Where can I download the SMG Health+ app?
- The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
How do I create an account in the SMG Health+ app?
- You can sign up for an account with a valid email address. You will be required to
create a password for the account. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your email address for account activation. Please log in using your email address and the password to access the app.
How long does my medical report take to be ready? How can I access it?
- Your medical report will take up to 10 working days to be uploaded in the SMG Health+ app or emailed to you. The report will be ready before your post-screening telereview.
What password should I use to open my medical report?
- You can access the report by using the password which comprises your ID Number and Birth Year (eg. S1234567A1999).
When is my post-screening review and how will be it conducted?
- Your post-screening review will be conducted by our doctor via an audio call. The telereview is typically scheduled 2 weeks after your health screening appointment.
I have received the soft copy reports. Can I get also get them in hard copy from the clinic?
- Yes, please contact the clinic to request for your hard copy reports and arrange for onsite collection. The hard copy reports are chargeable at $30 before GST.
What happens if I receive a referral letter for specialist follow-up?
- Our staff will follow up with you via email to book an appointment for you with our panel of private specialists.
If I need a follow-up with Lifescan Medical which is suggested by the doctor, how can I make an appointment?
- You can call the preferred Lifescan Medical Centre at Novena or Paragon directly, or email us at [email protected].

Terms and Conditions
Health screening packages booked must be utilised within 3 months from the date of the purchase. The health screening packages and the items in the package are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable, including the unutilised portion.
